The brass bowl was inspired by a large satellite farm I pass on the way to my parents house. Its half sphere shape rests perfectly on a wooden base I carve on a lathe and can be tipped in different direction to face you or the sunlight. Each brass bowl is individually spun from a single sheet of brass using century old metal spinning techniques, so no two are the same. The brass bowl makes a beautiful planter, and although it is finished with a thin coat of varnish to minimise corrosion, it's best to make sure there's minimal contact with water by watering plants from the center of the bowl outwards. It can also be used as a bowl for keys and loose change, as a jewellery bowl by your bed or a catch-all on your desk. Details Size: Diameter: 4" (10 cm) , height with base: 2.5" (6.5 cm) The base of the bowl is separate, made from Beechwood then hand finished with Danish Oil. The brass bowl is polished then finished with a thin coat of clear varnish for protection.
